Night Life- Noble Feat Solomon

Song Title: Night Life

Artist: Noble ft. Soloman

Reviewer: Jakob Kordan

Night Life by Noble ft. Soloman is another rap/ club banger in the vein of Tinie Tempa, Labrinth, N- Dubz etc. The old need for not just good flow over a traditional Hip Hop beat has been dead for a while in UK music and the inclusion of suitable dance hooks and big sounding dance music inspired beats has become the expected for UK rap artists.

Yes this need to be able to dance and groove is delivered in the track with quick and well rapped lyrics by Noble, with plenty of flow. However the Bob Marley inspired singing hook throughout does not quite fit and the main synth line in the filling out the song in the background is very reminiscent of early 90s dance tunes (this may or not be to the liking of many). There are many layers of drum beats and a lots of 808 sub basses to kick through the mix. The mixture of dance 4/4 feel with the free flow of rapping has been successful recently and this song does continue in this thriving formula. However the production of the song is not to my particular liking, with many soundscapes and drum breaks distracting from the lyrics. I do not think the main hook in the song is strong enough to be played to recognised admiration and cheers on the dance floor and falls short of being an original and innovative UK rap song.  This song however is sure to get people dancing and if you do not like your lyrics too insightful and not of social commentary or politicised edge then this song might just tick your party going boxes.
