Nothing But Thieves – Itch
Having seen Nothing But Thieves live twice in the space of eight days, I was eager to see which song the band were set to release next. Itch was a massive crowdpleaser at both gigs, being one of the bands heavier tracks as well as showing of front-man Conor’s massive vocal range so it seemed like the logical next single – something they clearly agreed with!
Described as featuring “chainsawing guitars and experimental flourishes”, an image that’s hard to disagree with, Itch is full of attitude and an unignorable push of power. I’m a particular fan of how much tension is built up in the intro and maintained throughout the track; it’s got that much to say for itself that it sounds like it’s been taken straight from a film’s soundtrack, though drama and emotion are two things you can expect from anything Nothing But Thieves produce.
Nothing But Thieves are fast becoming one of the most exciting bands currently on the radio with each single growing stronger and stronger. The album is set for release around August this year but until them you can get to know them a little better by checking out KUBE’s interview with Conor and guitarist Dom at Birmingham’s Sunflower Lounge.
